Autism Assessment and Intervention

I offer assessment and interventions that are tailored to the needs of the individual, the parent and family. The assessment includes a developmental history, screening questionnaires, observations and can include a school visit. I offer the DISCO – Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders; 3DI - developmental dimensional diagnostic interview and the ADOS – autism diagnostic observation schedule. If additional assessments are needed my service can offer an independent Speech and Language assessment and a Cognitive assessment from qualified and experienced clinicians. The interventions I offer include modified CBT, counselling, social skills training, parent advice and support. Click here for a link to this service.

Looking for help for yourself, your child or family

In the first instance it can be helpful for you to email me with a brief outline of your concerns. I will call you and arrange an appointment. Parents often prefer to meet with me on their own initially so that they are free to raise all their concerns.

In our first appointment we will explore your concerns in more depth and decide together what we should work on and what intervention would be most suitable.

When working with children and teenagers I initially offer up to 4 sessions followed by a review to ensure that everyone is happy with the intervention. I give opportunities throughout the work for parents and individuals to let me know how they feel things are progressing.
